Nawty-Nawty began as a 3 piece band in the late 90's. With Steve Baker on bass & vocals, Marty Wallace on lead guitar & vocals, and James Baker on drums. The band became popular fairly quickly and gained a large following in the Missouri Boot heel. Some nights at the NiteCap Lounge, people had to be turned away at the door. There was no room, not even to stand, anywhere in the club! Bookings started pouring in and sometimes so many the band couldn't take on all of them. With Steve's wide ranging vocals and superior bass guitar technique acquired through years of experience in various bands, joined With Marty's extremely high caliber guitar work, great showmanship and blues type vocals, adding James Baker's experienced drumming- the Nawty-Nawty Sound was born. "BUT YOU DON'T SOUND LIKE A 3 PIECE BAND", fans often offered to band members. TRUE, Nawty-Nawty does have it's own unique sound. Also, "YOU GUYS IN NAWTY-NAWTY, YOU'RE JUST FRIENDLY TO PEOPLE, MORE THAN OTHER BANDS". That IS true for sure. Because the band members like people. That's a big reason why the band members like to perform in public, to mix with the people.  James says, "If I can see them smiling toward the band and having fun on the dance floor, or nodding their heads or tapping their toes at the tables, or someone stops me at break just because they want to meet me and talk a little, they have made my night!" The band enjoys meeting people, likes people, you could almost call the band name- THE AMIGOS! But everybody knows them as "Nawty-Nawty".
